Diversity At UFCF

Diversity Category One: Office of Culture & Belonging

The Office of Culture & Belonging of the United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. (UFCF) was established in 2020 with the aim of promoting respect for all cultures and identities. The office leads the development of organizational policies and protocols to create a more representative, equitable, and inclusive foundation. Its goal is to integrate fairness, care, and a sense of belonging into learning and workplace practices, ensuring safe and just environments for students, community members, and the families served by UFCF.

Diversity Category Two: UFCF Board of Directors Statement on Recent Events & Recommendations

The UFCF Board of Directors, in solidarity with those fighting against injustice, acknowledges the pain and suffering faced by Black Americans due to racism. The board emphasizes the importance of upholding principles such as equality, equity, faith, nonviolence, education, love, leadership, selflessness, and hope. They encourage members to educate themselves on the historical context of these issues and share that knowledge within their communities. They also provide a comprehensive list of books, articles, albums, films, and TV shows that can aid in understanding and addressing systemic racism.

Diversity Category Three: Principles We Live By

UFCF highlights several principles that guide their work: equality/equity, faith, nonviolence, education, love, leadership, selflessness, and hope. These principles are exemplified by Martin Luther King Jr., who fought for civil rights and equality during the 1950s and '60s. The organization encourages young people to treat others with kindness and fairness, believe in themselves and their goals, resolve conflicts peacefully, prioritize education, promote love and empathy, develop leadership skills, engage in selfless acts of service, and maintain hope even in the face of challenges.
